Man In Wheelchair Prays For Help And Strangers Answer His Call Just 2 Days Later

It all started when Amy and her husband, Erik, decided to take a trip to Rapid City, South Dakota from Ray, North Dakota right before Christmas.

When we pray, we never know who is listening or how the prayer is going to be answered. That’s the beauty of prayer. God is always there and he has mysterious ways of answering our prayers.

This is something that this North Dakota couple ended up learning about firsthand. They performed an act of kindness and never knew that it would spiral into something else entirely.

Their lives were changed forever. There is no way that they could have ever expected anything like this to take place. According to Valley News Live, it all started when Amy and her husband, Erik, decided to take a trip to Rapid City, South Dakota from Ray, North Dakota right before Christmas. While they were on the way to their hotel, they came across a man in a wheelchair who was struggling mightily.

“It was very icy. It was so cold. He only had one leg,” said Amy, according to the oulet. The couple knew that they had to stop and help this man get up the hill or they never would have been able to live with themselves.

At this time, they learned that he was homeless and that he was staying in a hotel. Someone else had been thoughtful enough to pay for a few nights to get him out of the cold.

“I was on my second night at a motel which was going to be my last night,” says Wayne. Once the night over, he would be back on the streets with no place to go. “Hearing more about his story, I just couldn’t walk away quite yet,” said Amy. At this time, the couple decided that they would pay for Wayne’s room for another week.

“I wasn’t expecting the blessing,” he said, according to the outlet. Amy shared the story and asked her friends on Facebook if anyone could spare any money to help extend his stay. Her friends and loved ones ponied up over $6,000, which is enough to keep Wayne warm until this spring. They even purchased him a new wheelchair and some food.

“Because of the love and generosity of ALL OF YOU.. we raised $6,350 for Wayne!! Wayne is going to stay warm all winter, he’s going to sleep inside, get a new wheelchair, have gift cards to eat and some new personal essential items!! THANK YOU For giving and helping someone in need!” said Amy on Facebook. As it turns out, Wayne had prayed for help two days before he met the couple, further proof that God is always listening!
