Church Members Pitch In To Surprise Pizza Delivery Guy With $700 Tip
They had no idea how much the tip would mean to the delivery man.
We love to see stories about service workers receiving awesome tips. They really restore our faith in humanity and they inspire us to be more generous in our daily travels.
That’s been our main takeaway from this story that is being shared about 22-year-old pizza delivery driver Jeff Louis. On this fateful day, he was merely taking a delivery order to the good folks at Life Point Church in Mentor, Ohio.

He probably thought that he would complete the transaction and be on his way. Little did he know that he was in for an experience that would alter the course of his life. The congregation provided him with a massive tip of over $700. He did not want the experience to go unnoticed, so he recorded a reaction video and posted it to his YouTube channel.
Life Point’s pastor Ken Wright is the one who came up with the idea of providing him with a sizable tip. At first, Wright wanted to give $100 to the delivery driver because it was the holiday season. “Yeah, I just thought let’s tip him $100. It’s the holiday season,” Wright told a local news station. Once Jeff arrived, the congregation invited him onto the stage.
The church later shared photos of the moment on Facebook:

At this time, they all began to tip him individually. “You know, the most amazing thing happened,” Louis says on the video, as he fights back tears. “This whole church came up and gave me over $700 for a tip.” It is easy to see why he was so moved. It’s not every day that a pizza delivery guy is shown this kind of appreciation.
“You know it was spontaneous. It just happened,” Wright continued. “They started lining up one by one with their own cash tips.” That’s the thing about generosity, it is contagious. This would have been a touching moment regardless but Jeff is currently in recovery as well, which provides an added element of poignancy.

You simply never know what battle other people are fighting and that is why it pays to be as kind as possible. Jeff was so deeply moved by this act of generosity that he felt compelled to share it with the rest of the world.
