Three guys got together to create the most detailed, yet understandable commentary on the bible. Authors Robert Jamieson, A.R. Fausset, and David Brown were each hardworking pastors as well as intentional scholars in the nineteenth century. They wanted to create something that both the everyday parishioner and the bible student could use- and you’ll find that in addition to the other books, this has practical application elements as well.
