Faith, Family, Food: Thanksgiving With FaithHub

As we head into this holiday, turkeys are brined, baked, fried. However you prepare the feast, we know there are family traditions and favorites that only you know. We asked around the office here at Jesus Loves You, and here are some foods we all love.

THE BEST WAY TO HAVE DESSERT IS AS A SIDE DISH

If you’re like me and don’t like bog fruit cranberries, you probably scour for ways to dress them up. It’s just like having a unique spin on a favorite casserole or the best way to make gravy. I never found a good way to do that until (literally) today. Jessica’s mom apparently also hates cranberries. Her solution? Make a side dish into dessert – except serve it as part of the meal. Cranberry apple crisp isn’t pie, technically; it’s cranberries. Which totally go with a Thanksgiving meal, right?

We put the recipe online for you – it’s 100% from the Griggs’ kitchen!

I WILL NEVER EAT GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE THE SAME

Confession: I love green bean casserole. I mean the easy-peasy Thanksgiving staple featuring canned soup, dehydrated onion straws and frozen vegetables. It’s delicious and requires minimal work. So when a friend said she made green bean casserole for Thanksgiving, my first thought was “duh,” until she explained that she did everything by hand – the beans, the onions…it’s all from scratch. And I was blown away when I finally saw it.

If you want THAT at your table, you can get the recipe here, but maybe you want some cheese
