On a warm summer day, Aurora, Colorado resident Mande Baum was brought to her knees by a severe asthma attack. Aurora Fire Department’s Engine No. 6 jumped into action, piloted from station house to emergency scene by John Woody. This would be John Woody, Sr., not John Woody, Jr. – in 1995 anyway! Because eighteen years later, on a warm summer day in 2013, John Woody, Jr.’s Engine No. 13 received a distress call from Mande’s husband for the same emergency: a severe asthma attack.
