If you’re in need of a morning pick me up, but coffee isn’t gonna cut it, check out the only restaurant in America owned by a man with Down Syndrome – where they serve breakfast, lunch and hugs.
Hanging on a wall in an Albuqurque, New Mexico restaurant are dozens of medals from the Special Olympics. Tim Harris smiles as he tells a customer he has won more medals than Michael Phelps – and Tim’s Place is his proudest accomplishment. At age twenty-six, the Olympian – who has Down Syndrome – opened his own restaurant, where he can bring customers joy with a smile and great food. Seven days a week, Tim and his staff serve breakfast, lunch and hugs with excellent service. Check out Tim’s Place in the video below!SKM: below-content placeholder
