The Emergent Church – A New Way to Worship?

This new style of worship has generated some controversy in the past 20 years. Where do you stand on it?

For the past 20 or so years the term “Emergent Church” has been used to describe a movement and styles of worship that outside of the mainstream of what many of us are used to. Born out of a fear that traditional churches weren’t reaching a younger generation, emerging church leaders sought a way to bring Generation X back to church. They embraced new styles of worship that include an active questioning of traditional church theology, missional living, and a focus on social justice.

Many see this kind of Christianity as an attack on on traditional evangelical Christianity and, more importantly, an attack on Biblical truths. What do you think?
