Sacrifice

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16

Because His love for us was so great, God was willing to allow His Son Jesus to be crucified on the cross, even though we were yet sinners, so that we might be saved. This powerful depiction of such a difficult choice is a perfect analogy to the sacrifice that God made for us.
