This Dog Was Abandoned to a Shelter Where No One Wanted Him. No One, That Is, Except a Nursing Home

Six years ago, a chocolate lab was found abandoned in Toulon, Illinois. He was taken to the local animal shelter, where, when no adoptive owners could be found, he was going to be put down. A relative of the person who found the dog known as “Rusty” was the administrator at Toulon Rehabilitative and Assisted Living Home, and no way would Rusty die – he would be given a second chance. Today, the friendly dog has free reign in the hallways and patient rooms at the nursing home. See his second chance and life as a therapy animal in the clip below!
