Woman Refuses to Give Up On Husband After Motorcycle Accident Leaves Him In A Coma

Doctors gave Matthew a grim prognosis, but Danielle refused to pull the plug.

When we walk down the aisle, we say our vows to each other, and if you stick with the traditional ones? That means you are agreeing to remain with your partner at all times, in sickness and in health.

“Til death do us part” is the agreement that we make, although there are many who are forced to break these vows for reasons that they are not always able to plan for.

Essentially, we agree to love one another no matter what. The couples that are able to grow together serve as shining examples of what can happen when love becomes stronger and stronger over the years. This story, in particular, will have you reaching for the tissues. The couple vowed to stay married until one of them died and this wife took that to heart.

On top of remaining by his side for the entirety of his life, she was going to do everything in her power to keep him alive.

According to CBS Morning, Danielle and Matthew Davis fell for each other very quickly. They got married within two months of meeting, which is almost unheard of in this day and age. The two were wed for all of nine months before Matthew was in a serious motorcycle accident.

As a result of his injuries, he was hospitalized and remained in a coma for several months. Danielle was not willing to give up on him, though. The doctor advised her to pull the plug on her husband and she decided against it. In her mind, there was no need to take such drastic measures despite the prognosis that he wouldn’t recover.

In her mind, her husband was going to recover and be fine. She knew it. Eventually, the doctor sent Matthew home, where he would remain in the care of Danielle and his mother. A few more months went by and the most amazing thing happened. Matthew finally spoke. “I’m trying,” he told Danielle. Sadly, when he finally woke up, he did not have any memory of Danielle.

They had to start from square one but Matthew is grateful that he married her before the crash took place.

Meanwhile, Danielle is giving all of the praise to God. “I knew that God could get us through that. I didn’t think that it was too big for God. If you believe in God, believe in God and take what you know to be true,” she said. “He put her in my life, so God knows what he’s doing,” Matthew agreed.

Their story was shared back in early 2015, and just a few months later Danielle shared that she was ready for a divorce. She’s now married to someone else and Matthew is said to be doing well on his own. While it may not be the happily ever after they expected, Matthew has Danielle to thank for his life, for not pulling the plug.
