Six years ago, Jonny Benjamin was ready to commit suicide. So ready, in fact, that he took to London’s Waterloo Bridge, ready to jump into the freezing River Thames below. Terrified by his diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder, one simple act changed and saved Jonny’s life: a stranger asking him not to jump, and offering him a cup of coffee, something so daily and almost…normal, Jonny remembers. He never knew the man he dubbed “Mike,” but he wanted to find and thank this good Samaritan. Now, with the help of the UK charity Rethink Mental Illness, Jonny finally gets to meet Neil Laybourn. It’s beautiful.
