James Robertson, a 56 year old man from Detroit is still reeling from the last 24 hours. He starts his commute to his factory job at 8 AM, gets there mid afternoon, works a full shift, and walks back home, usually getting there around 4 AM. James is, by all accounts, a hard worker who leaves no room for excuses. He’s at work every day, on time, rain or shine, according to his boss. His story was picked up by some local news sources last week, went viral, and thanks to Evan Leedy, a college kid from suburban Detroit who started a “go fund me” page to get James a car, he now has more than $200,000. Even though that could buy a luxury car, James says he’s going to stick with something basic, like a Ford Taurus, because it’s simple on the outside, yet dependable and hard working on the inside. Kind of like him.
