There are certain images that have become part of our public consciousness whether we realize it or not. Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grand Jatte, Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa are all great and classic examples. For Australian photographer Bill Gekas, they don’t just sit in museums far away, they come to life before his eyes. And he loves them in ways we can’t, because they are all of his daughter.

Wait, what? Yeah, seriously! Gekas spends time between formal assignments and contracts having a ton of fun with his daughter, 5-year-old Athena. How to give her an appreciation for art? Well, just like Mayhem’s mom allows her to design, and similar to Queenie Lao setting up baby Wengenn, Bill makes Athena part of the process. Time for dress up!

Just look at these images…

…you’ll see classic paintings.
