During the Christmas holidays many churches will present a live nativity to the community. Many will allow children to pet the animals. Visit one or more nativities with your family.
3. Draw names for gift giving, and give the money saved to the needy.
This time of year many shelters and ministries are struggling to make ends meet and to serve clients that need help. Instead of every family member giving gifts to every other family member, match the name of each family member with another family member to exchange gifts with. Then give the saved dollars to orphans, widows and homeless ministries.
