Routine Call Leads to Touching Moment Between Homeless Girl and Cop
While investigating a suspicious vehicle, Huntington Beach Police Officers Zach Pricer and Scott Marsh found a homeless mother and her 11-year-old daughter living in it. While Marsh tried to arrange for accommodation for the mother and daughter, Pricer tried to put the girl at ease by teaching her hopscotch.
Officer Pricer’s method may not come straight out of the police manual, but the idea of building trust with the community certainly does. Now, whenever the little girl sees a police officer, she will be reminded of something nice — hopscotch. As the Bible says, “So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another” (Romans 14:19).
