Calling the Good Samaritans out there…Are You One?

“In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.” -Luke 10:25-37

What would you do if you witnessed a homeless man fall on the sidewalk? In this episode of “What Would You Do,” you’ll see that question answered first hand. You won’t believe your eyes as people do everything they can to avoid the helpless homeless man. All but one person passed by without offering help. Linda Hamilton, with a voice so small you could hardly hear it, was the only person to stop that day. She was not only persistent with passers-by, but she also refused to leave the man’s side until help was found. This beautiful act of compassion and mercy is what being a christian is all about. Let’s try to live like Jesus.
