Mom Texts Her Dead Son’s Phone – She Didn’t Expect A Response!

By the time Taylor Thyfault was 21-years-old, he had already served in the Army and was taking part in cadet training with the Colorado State Patrol.

On May 23, 2015, Thyfault was on assignment with another Colorado State Patrol Trooper, Trooper Clinton Rushing. They were on Colorado Highway 66 near Weld County when they were alerted to a high-speed police chase coming towards them.

Trooper Rushing and Taylor Thyfault deployed stop sticks to try and stop the suspect, but the suspect fleeing from law enforcement missed the stop sticks and crashed into both men.

Trooping Rushing was critically injured in the crash, Thyfault was pronounced dead at the scene.

A tow-truck driver who was at the scene told USA TODAY that Thyfault warned him to get out of the way, and this warning saved his life.

Since his death, Carol Adler, Taylor Thyfault’s mom, has been texting Taylor’s phone just as a way to cope with what she was feeling.

One day, much to her surprise, she received a text back. When she found out who it was, she decided to keep texting.
