Cats are known to have nine lives, but one cat is defying the odds when it was born in San Diego with one head, two mouths, two noses, and four eyes.

Named ‘Duo’, the adorable feline was born three months ago but was rejected by her mother. Thankfully, the cat’s owner was friends with a local veterinarian, Ralph Tran, who agreed to adopt the special needs cat.

“Raising Duo has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and at the same time, incredibly challenging,” Tran told InsideEdition.com.

Tran first had to feed Duo with a tube and a syringe. but the cat has since learned to eat on his own.

“Both her mouths meow separately, and both noses are fully functional,” Tran told People.

“Each face fights to eat and, as a result, most of the food just ends up in the middle eye and on her forehead. That’s why her forehead is now bald,” Tran wrote on the cat’s Facebook Fan Page.

Duo has been dealing with a string of health issues since being born including a respiratory infection, a possible seizure, and has had trouble walking. She will also need to get surgery on her middle eye.

Although she is smaller than most kittens her age, she still loves to play:

“She may have her disability, she may have her challenges, but she loves life, she loves to play, she takes whatever is thrown at her and makes the best of it,” Tran told Inside Edition.

Although most “Janus cats” rarely live beyond a few days, Tran says she could potentially live to be 15-years-old like another famous Janus cat, named Frankenlouie, who lived to be the same age.
