You can only sleep when and if your junior associate sleeps; you can only eat after your junior associate has eaten; you must be available 24 hours per day; and you must do all this for minimal or no pay. Sounds like a harsh job, and yet it’s one that we pursue, honor and billions around the world successfully perform day-in, day-out over and over again. Who are these wonder workers who work for such immeasurable benefit that it supersedes health insurance, money and retirement, even replaces vacations?
