(Tough) Love Your Enemies

From the guy who cut you off in traffic, to the enemies abroad, Jesus said we are to love our enemies. Really.

But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. Luke 6:27-28

When Jesus told us to “love our enemies” he meant one thing: that we should love our enemies. No exceptions, no excuses. From that guy who just cut you off in traffic, to your distant father, or even the “enemies” abroad. Now what exactly does love look like? I believe Paul laid out a pretty clear picture for us in 1 Corinthians – that love is patient, kind, not envious or boastful, not bossy or resentful, but rejoicing in truth.
