We Have Hope For Peace And Restoration In Christ, AMEN!

Regardless of how you got there, we all find ourselves distanced from God at times, and we may feel the heavy weight of shame, judgement, and guilt. I’m here to tell you, dear Christian, that you are not too far gone.

Whether you need to make a decision for Christ, or you are counseling someone who is, Ephesians 4 has the formula for you. The truth must be spoken in love. We’ve already touched on the grace and love part of the verse, now let’s look to truth. It is important to not water down or shy away from scripture. As the one who is struggling to come to terms with their sin, it is vital for you to acknowledge your wrong doing, to understand your shortcomings, and to make amends to those you’ve hurt along the way. There is grace, but there are also consequences in this life. As the one who is counseling, make sure not to confuse your message of love as one of acceptance of sin. Be clear. Set clear goals.

Don’t let shame control you. The devil has two great lies, the first is to minimize sin, making it seem too small to worry about. The second is to maximize sin, giving it far too much power in our lives. Christ has come to give us life. He is a loving, forgiving Father, and he wants us to have peace and freedom. Hang on to those truths today.
