The Hounds of Heaven

He sought me, He caught me, He bought me, He taught me what I ought be. None of this is about me but its all about Him!

Can you imagine God the Father pursuing you?  What image do you get when you feel like God is pursing you with an everlasting love?  What an image this portrays in the mind that God has released the hounds of heaven to overtake you and bring you to Himself.

For years I had always believed that I had found God, as if He were missing.  I thought that I had been searching for answers to life and that if I looked hard enough, I would find God.  The truth is that He found me!  After I started reading the Bible I came across verses that made me think that He was calling me and drawing me to Himself, rather than me seeking after Him.  For example in Romans 3:11 is says, “there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.”   In the Parable of the Great Banquet in Luke 14, the man preparing the banquet says, “Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full” (23).

Try reading Ephesians chapters one and two and see for yourself.  I like to look at my salvation as fully a work of God.  He sought me, He caught me, He bought me, He taught me what I ought be.  None of this is about me but its all about Him!

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. – John 6:44
