Lucky Number

The number seven is everywhere in our culture, from the days in a week to the notes in our musical scale, and also the number we think of as “lucky,” but why? Seven is a recurring motif in the Bible, and is often regarded by theologians as the divine number, a number of completion: six days of creation + one day of rest = 7; how many times to forgive: 7 x 70; seven bowls, lampposts, scrolls, trumpets and angels throughout Revelation. The number 7, as God’s favored representation, became lucky.
