A Powerful Morning Prayer

Mornings are hard. Prayer helps.

I get it. Mornings are hard. Sure, there are some people who love waking up with the sun and getting a headstart on the day, but I’m not one of them. That being said, I always notice a difference in my day and my attitude when I take a few minutes to pray and spend time with the Lord before getting into the hustle and bustle of the day.

When I’m tired and already mentally complaining about the day ahead, it can be hard to focus and settle my mind enough to pray, let alone spend quality time with God. Having a guide or a template can help kick things off and get me in the right mindset.

Let’s start out by asking a simple question: How is your heart today? Consider the doubts, fears, and troubles taking up space in your heart and mind. We all have them, and that’s okay. Meditate on the truth of John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Another powerful verse to combat those heavy burdens is found in Isaiah 43:2. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.”

After letting the truth of Scripture sink into your heart, go ahead and follow along with this guided prayer. If you need a reminder of the verses, watch the video from the beginning. Otherwise, the prayer starts at 2:42.

I hope you find this prayer as helpful as I do!
