Police Officer’s Act Of Kindness Save’s Homeless Man’s Life

Chance encounters like these are sure to change the lives of both parties involved. The homeless man in this story’s entire destiny changed as soon as he met this kind police officer.

Deputy Holman of Greenville County Sheriffs’ Office in Greenville, South Carolina was driving his cruiser one night when he saw a rain-soaked man walking on the side of the road.

Robert Morris is his name and he had fallen on some hard times. The man was homeless and in the throes of addiction. Unlike others who would have judged this man harshly and kept driving, Holman went out of his way to make sure he was okay. He knew that Morris could use a friend, so he took him under his wing and tried to help him out.

They took a walk to a church close by and started to talk over all of the problems that Morris was experiencing. He bought Morris some food and asked him if there was anything else that he needed.

The man said that he could use a Bible to read. Unfortunately, Holman only had his personal copy. The pages were all marked up and he had highlighted the passages that meant the most to him.

“I wrestled with the fact that I knew my personal Bible was in the car and I didn’t necessarily want to give that up,” Holman said in the video below. “But I kind of felt like God was telling me, ‘He needs this more than you do.’”
