Peloton Group Surprises Waitress With $4,000+ Tip
The waitress was moved to tears when she realized what had happened.
It is always great to see people coming together to make a real difference and this story is no different. The group of friends that you are about to meet comes together on a yearly basis, with the hope of helping those who are in need.
The Wicked Smaht Zone, a Facebook collective from New England, started out as a group of Peloton enthusiasts.
Their connection has only continued to grow from there, as they find themselves looking to help out those who are less fortunate. The decision that they made should inspire everyone who is reading this. They decided that they would go out to eat at Tavern on the Wharf in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Beforehand, the group elected to make this a very special breakfast for their server.
“It made everyone at breakfast feel good. Everyone couldn’t wait to get there that day,” said Josh Vernon in an interview with CBS Boston.
A group of 22 met up for the breakfast and you can imagine the server rolling their eyes when a group of that size walked in. However, they had something much better in mind. They solicited donations from over 100 group members so that they would be able to leave a sizable tip.
By the time it was all said and done, they had collected $4,600 to leave for their server. “After the hundreds, there were the twenties. We were just, tears. Tears, tears, tears!” Megan Oliviera recalled to the news outlet. She was the lucky waitress who received their tip. This tip was right on time, as well. Megan shared her story and we are glad that she received the help she needed.
“It’s incredible. I live alone. I have two daughters. Rent is due in two days. This was the most heartwarming incredible thing that has honestly ever happened. I couldn’t be more appreciative. I could cry talking about it right now,” she continued.
