Like many people entering adulthood, and following a European tradition of taking a gap year, Nicolas Foubert wanted to travel. So he did. With little more than supplies in a backpack, Nicolas made his way from his family home in Paris to the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and across the Pacific all the way to Guatemala. After nearly two years – 19 months and 15 days, to use his exact number – he felt it was time to go home. Not for just any reason, but because it was his younger sister’s birthday, and she missed him. Their reunion is touching (have the tissues ready by the end of the video!), but it’s Nicolas’ journey and birthday present that is actually super fun to watch. With his camera, he films a journey through three countries and two continents – separated by an ocean – to get home. All to deliver a gift. Click play on the clip below!
