The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
Mason had it all – a nice job, a nice paycheck, and everything that money could buy. Yet, somehow, he wasn’t satisfied. He decided to quit his job and open up a pizza shop in his home town of Philadelphia. He didn’t intend on it becoming a hub of the homeless community, but selling homemade, wholesome pizza for a buck a slice lends itself to a certain segment of the population. Mason embraced his new role just the same. One day a customer came in and put a dollar down and said it was for the next homeless person who walked in the door. What started out as a “pay it forward” initiative, turned into a way of life. Now, customers often come in and purchase $1 post it notes with encouraging words for the homeless community. Homeless people know they can come in, grab a post it, and get a slice of pizza.
