Justice and Love Often Come From the Same Place. Just Ask Jessica Robles.

Jessica Robles’ children were hungry. Staring at barren cupboards and empty refrigerator, Jessica Robles made a choice – a choice that got her stopped and arrested by Vicki Thomas. Vicki Thomas also made a choice looking at that same situation: to love.

Jessica Robles’ children were hungry. Her financially supportive boyfriend had left, her job hunt hadn’t landed a position yet, and somewhere, somehow, paper work was holding up the needed assistance to feed her family. Staring at barren cupboards and empty refrigerator, Jessica Robles made a choice – a choice that got her stopped and arrested by Vicki Thomas. Thomas, a 23-year veteran of the Miami-Dade Police Department, responded to a call that Robles had shop lifted nearly $300 worth of groceries. Looking at a mother with no money and no food for her children, Thomas did more than any person, let alone police officer, would be expected to: stocked the Robles home with food with money from her own pocket. See their story of compassion, thankfulness and second chances in the video below!
