How To Live Forgiven

Forgiveness; it’s one of the main tenants of the Christian faith, the reason Christ came down to earth, at the very heart of the gospel, Good News incarnate. And yet, how easily do we forget this basic principle when we stumble in our walk with God?

Keep growing!

While confession and forgiveness are fundamental truths about Christianity, it takes time to learn about them, to implement them into your daily life and way of thinking, and to be able to see the results of living a forgiven life. Take heart! Developing these healthy habits will be instrumental in your walk with God. When you falter, keep preaching truth to yourself. You are loved. You are forgiven. Don’t look backwards, strain forward.

forgive others

T.S. Eliot said, “The greatest proof of Christianity for others is not how far a man can logically analyze his reasons for believing, but how far in practice he will stake his life on his belief.” It is at this crossroad we begin to see faith put into action! We have done the work of confession, waded through doubt and shame, patiently let the Holy Spirit continue to work in us, and now, when we are on the other end of the equation – when someone needs our forgiveness, we will remember how much grace has been given to us and mercifully give grace to others. 1 John 4:19 says, “we love because he first loved us.” Let this be the prayer of our hearts, and the action we take in our daily lives!
