Romans: But God shows His love for us…

Ephesians: But God because of His great mercy…

These are just two in a long list of the Bible’s “buts.” And it’s the exact opposite of how we usually think of God. I pray, therefore God blesses me. I believe in Jesus, therefore I am forgiven – sound familiar? But this isn’t the equation of the Gospel, it’s not the grammar of grace. The good news is God doing his thing his way because He loves, not because we do anything at all. We sin, but God still saves. We turn away, yet God is faithful. We hate, but God loves. In the clip below, Paige Brown addresses The Gospel Coalition’s National Conference and brings attention to this amazing truth. We don’t need to manipulate God; it’s not a religion of works. It’s just receiving grace. How awesome? Two minutes is all it takes to be refreshed with the clip below.
