Nature has a strange and beautiful way of hiding true art in the unlikeliest of places, and even the smallest creepy crawlies can be magnificent. This photographer has captured the bright trails of light left by fireflies as they dance in twilight hours of the American midwest.

These photographs were taken at Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks and Grand Ledge, Michigan during humid nights, when fireflies are more likely to light up the evening.
