Is Your Life Ruled By Fear Or Faith?

Our response to fear determines how much power it will have over us.

What are you afraid of? A few things probably come to mind. Spiders, heights, cleaning behind the fridge. But we’re talking about those deep seated fears. The ones you don’t even want to speak out loud. The kind of fear that sinks down into your heart and makes you doubt God’s goodness. Maybe it even shakes the foundation of your faith and tempts you to walk away from God altogether.

That’s exactly what the devil wants. Fear is the number one tool Satan uses to keep us from moving forward and growing in our faith. You might think you have it under control for now, but eventually those secret fears and anxieties will consume you. Little by little, you’re making space for fear in your heart.

“How you respond to your fear determines how much power it will have over you.”

This is such a convicting quote. Ultimately it comes down to fear versus faith. Trust in yourself versus trust in God. When we let fear rule our lives, what we’re really saying is the world and its troubles are too big for God to handle.

As with everything in life, we should turn to the Word for answers. Here are a few verses for you to consider throughout your day. Read them slowly and let the truth of these words – the words God our Father handed down to us – take root in your heart. Let them push out fear and fill you up with renewed faith.
