He Didn’t See Wife or Children for Thirty Years… You Won’t Believe What Brought Pops Back!

For thirty years, border residents in Mexico and the southern United States knew him as “El Diablo” – the Devil. It wasn’t just heroin that Pops overcame, but also a deep separation from his daughter and son.

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39

For thirty years, border residents in Mexico and the southern United States knew him as “El Diablo” – the Devil. A drug smuggler and heroin addict himself, this 68-year-old left his family for drugs and violence in the early 1980s. As the drugs consumed him, Pops (as he is now known) felt body growing weaker. When he was at the verge of death, God spoke to him. By the power and fellowship of the Union Rescue Mission, it wasn’t just heroin that Pops overcame, but also a deep separation from his daughter and son. See his triumphal, joyous story in the video below!
