How Did These Dolphins Figure Out This Incredible Fishing Method?

This method of “fishing” isn’t found anywhere else in the world.

All across the world there are instances of animals being incredibly innovative in order to get food, survive from predators, or even just living daily life. There are so many different ways that the creatures of our planet have learned to adapt and be very creative in the wild.

For these North American dolphins, their method of fishing is unlike any other.

20 miles outside of Savannah, Georgia, a clever pod of dolphins visit a grouping of tidal marshes. When the tide gets low, the dolphins swim inland, and, working as a team, corral the fish.

After they collect the fish into a specific area, they lunge towards the shore in one coordinated movement, creating a wave that pushes the fish on land where the dolphins quickly snatch them up before sliding back into the water!

Their method of “fishing” isn’t found anywhere else in the world.
