You May Not Be a Football Fan, But You’ve Got to Love Devon Still. What a Dad.

When his daughter was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, Devon couldn’t stay with the team. But that didn’t mean the team would let him go. They stayed with him.

Let’s be honest: we obsess over sports in our culture to a slightly unhealthy degree. On Super Bowl Sunday, over one hundred million people will tune their TVs to the same network, half for the football, the other half for the commercials of all things, and athletes – extremely talented athletes, make no mistake – are paid millions of dollars to play a game for our entertainment. And I love every minute of it.

That said, from the enduring faith of the Seattle Seahawks to the focus of Peyton Manning to the love between fans, there are amazing, inspiring stories and a platform for good in professional sports. Case in point: the Cincinnati Bengals and Devon Still. When his daughter was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, Devon couldn’t stay with the team. But that didn’t mean the team would let him go. They stayed with him.
