Colorado Church’s Heart Rending Prayer for Movie Theater Shooter

The pastor of this church, which lost one of their own, reminds the congregation to pray for the shooter’s family.

Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us will give an account of himself to God. – Romans 14:10-12

After the horrifying massacre that occurred last week at the Aurora, Colorado movie theater the Colorado Community Church learned that they had lost one of their own. Gordon Cowden, one of the 12 victims killed in the shooting, was a member of Colorado Community Church. Watch as the pastor reminds the congregation that God is the only one who can judge the shooter and that we all need to remember that the shooter’s family are also victims in this terrible tragedy. It is so important that in a time of grief like this, we remember to keep focused on God and His Word, and not let our anguish or rage rule us.
