Do You Need to Let Go and Let God? or Do I Need to Stop Saying That?

Instead of throwing out unthinking words of reassurance, maybe it’s time to toss away the cliches and say just what we really mean.

Is Jesus your co-pilot? Does everything happen for a reason? Is that bad thing that happened to you all part of God’s plan? Are you as tired as I am of hearing these trite, well-meaning cliches from the people you love?

Right, anyway, Jeff Bethke is, too. The Seattle-based minister and sometimes spoken word poet has previously looked at the value of being honest, broken and vulnerable, and he’s back with some (but much needed) similar thoughts.
