For 80 years, no one really minded: at every Oneida High School home football game, prayer would be said before kickoff. A few years ago, the ACLU asked the school to stop. The community didn’t listen and kept praying. But this year is different – with mounting pressure and threats of lawsuits, the school stopped publicly reading prayers. Enter the OHS cheer squad. Eight brave girls who took a stand, because silence wasn’t enough; these girls prayed – and they’ll keep praying. Awesome.
