Bravery & Sacrifice: Mom Loses Legs Protecting Kids From Tornado

“No greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” – John 15:13

Stephanie Decker knew exactly what to do when she heard a tornado howling outside of her home. She grabbed a comforter, and her two children and headed to the basement where she covered them with her body and the blanket. After two tornadoes ripped through and leveled her house, Stephanie’s legs were pinned by a steel support beam and she could not get out. After being rescued, her legs had to be amputated, but her strong spirit was unbroken and her children were unhurt. This kind of sacrifice and love are just one example of Christ’s love for us. If a mother could be willing to sacrifice her life for her children, how much more is our great Father willing to do for us?
