What This Animal Shelter Is Doing for Cats Is Awesome! What They’re Doing for Kids Is Even Better.

Like most cities of a certain size, Reading, Pennsylvania, has some animal control issues: stray pets, abandoned pets, pets that were never fixed…and so, Reading, Pennsylvania has an animal shelter where homeless animals are cared for until they find a forever home. Also in Berks County? Hundreds and hundreds of children. Public schools, private schools, home schools, teachers and parents alike encouraging students to learn – perhaps by reading. What better way to bring comfort to animals and children, while simultaneously encouraging them to read, than putting them together. And, really, what cuter way?

The shelter encourages young students to read to the cats.
