Every year, Bob Blackley stands at the intersection of Silas Creek Parkway and Peters Creek Parkway in Winstom-Salem, North Carolina, just off a major junction of Interestate 40, with a cardboard sign. He doesn’t do it everyday – just his birthday. Why? Because he has everything he needs; he wakes up with a smile, and he’s glad to do it. So to celebrate, he gives out $5 bills to passing motorists.
