Already Free
While we celebrate the 4th of July this year we also celebrate the freedoms freely given by Jesus Christ!
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:31-32
This Independence Day we are reminded of the freedoms that Americans enjoy. Freedoms of speech and religion. Freedom from oppressive monarchy. And while these are wonderful things to celebrate we must remember that all the freedoms we Americans enjoy pale in comparison to the freedom we, and everyone else in the world, are blessed with by Jesus Christ. We are given freedom from our sins, freedom to glorify God!
