Encouraging Verses About True Joy In The Lord

Read these verses about the joy that our Lord shares with us!

Non-believers may try to tell you that the Bible is all a bunch of somber warnings about how not to live your life. But we know better than that! The Bible is God’s letter to us. In it, He reveals his plan, his hope, and yes, his rules for us to follow. For those of us who call Jesus our Lord and Savior, we know that even the difficult commands are ultimately for God’s glory and our joy. Here are a couple of reminders that God is in the midst of our trials, and that He really does care about our joy!

“There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God.” – Ecclesiastes 2:24

“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” – Isaiah 55:12

“A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” – Psalm 100:1-5

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” – Zephaniah 3:17

“So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” – John 16:22

“And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit.” – 1 Thessalonians 1:6
