Hearing the word “theology” might bring to mind images of cloistered academics, poring over ancient manuscripts or debating the intricacies of the multiple translations of a singe Greek word. It might sound really boring and dry. But without theology, where do we begin to base our knowledge of what God wants from us? If those academics don’t take the time to argue the true meaning of a translation we may not read His true Word.
Theology isn’t just the dry parsing of words, though. Theology is a deep communion with the Father. Theology is a yearning to know His deepest desires for us. Theology is loving God. Theology matters.
