Crash Course On The Meaning Of Advent

Even if you don’t usually observe Advent, there is a rich history to be learned from this tradition.

Even if you don’t usually observe Advent, there is a rich history to be learned from this tradition. “Advent” literally means, “come into” in Latin, just as Jesus came into the world. The season of Advent is one of waiting, and hopeful expectation. It is a yearly reminder for the Church that Israel waited and waited for a savior to come, and He did, at the proper time. We too, are waiting for the second Advent, the second coming of Christ.
