Nearly four years ago, Stacie Crimm gave up her life so that her beautiful daughter might live; it remains a story of enduring love and heartbreak.

Today, Ashley and Jonathan Caughey are facing a similar struggle, but also staying hopeful. They were thrilled when they found out she was pregnant. Soon after, however, doctors discovered she had bone cancer. Doctors recommended starting chemo immediately, but that would mean ending Ashley’s pregnancy.

She made the decision to wait until the baby was born — but by then it was too late. The cancer had metastasized and there was nothing they could do to stop it.

When word spread, family, friends and local vendors donated their time and money to give the couple a dream wedding. It was a beautiful affair. And while Ashley’s future is uncertain, as the cancer has progressed apace, the newlyweds have a beautiful baby and great hope for the future.
