We May Suffer – But John Piper Knows the Glory To Come Is Better By Far!

Do we praise God in times of great suffering? Is He still good, even when we don’t understand? Watch and listen as these men proclaim the overwhelming truth and power of God.

As Christians, we were never promised an easy life. We were, however, promised that it would be a life worth living. Even when it hurts, even when we suffer loss, even when we wander in the desert, God is good. It is easy to praise God in times of plenty, but so much more meaningful when we choose to praise Him in times of great need. As Paul writes:

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. 2 Corinthians 4:16-17

We may never know the reason here on earth for our trials, but we do know that they are worthwhile. God is preparing us for eternity. The greater our capacity for suffering in this life, the greater our capacity will be for glory in the next. So take heart! Whatever your situation is today, our God is big enough to use it for our good and His glory.
