Sometimes it feels like Christianity has been boiled down to a contest on who has helped the most people in Jesus’ name. But what would Jesus actually be doing right now if he were on earth? We don’t have to stretch our imagination too far, because we have an account of his ministry in the New Testament.

We’ve all been there – the temptation to brag about your last mission trip, or the charity work you’re doing on the side is ever present. Sometimes it feels like Christianity has been boiled down to a contest on who has helped the most people in Jesus’ name. But what would Jesus actually be doing right now if he were on earth?

We don’t have to stretch our imagination too far, because we have an account of his ministry in the New Testament. Jesus didn’t come to be served, but to serve (Matthew 20:28). He washed his disciples’ feet, which was a task reserved for the lowest of servants! That is what it is to be a great leader, or in our case, to be a great follower.
