They Honored Her Father, A Fallen Officer, In The Most Touching Way…

Kristen was about to face her wedding day without her dad, who died in the line of duty six years ago. That is, until four of her father’s fellow officers stepped up to the plate and gave the bride a touching surprise.

There are a few moments in life when a daughter requires her father. Dad’s are an important influence all throughout the lives of their daughters, but certain occasions are more important that others. Like on her wedding day. Kristen was about to face this day without her dad, who died in the line of duty six years ago. That is, until four of her father’s fellow officers stepped up to the plate and gave the bride a touching surprise.

Officer Kent Mundell was there in spirit. At the ceremony, Kirsten reserved a chair in the front row for her dad, decorating it with a special sign, a framed photo and his jacket. Her dress and flowers featured ribbons in blue.

At the start of the ceremony, Seattle Police Det. Don Jones walked Kirsten down the aisle at her wedding, but that was only the beginning.

When the traditional “Father Daughter Dance” started, Don Jones stood in place of Kristen’s dad, as was planned. Then, to Kristen’s surprise, three other officers cut in, sharing the sweet moment with joy and tears.

While no one can replace her daddy, these men did their best to honor his memory, and carry on his legacy through caring for his little girl on her special day.
